We’re martial artists, designers, and thinkers who are always seeking a smarter, more intentional way to approach combat sports. Too often, fighting is reduced to brutality or spectacle. We created vrss to bring back what’s beneath it - the intelligence, artistry, and discipline that define true mastery. Our products are built with purpose, not noise. Every detail reflects the mindset we live by: precision, respect, and constant refinement.

Our Mission: To elevate the way martial artists train, think, and express their craft - by designing tools and ideas that honour both the art and the science of combat. We believe performance isn’t just physical; it’s mental, emotional, and spiritual. Our mission isn’t simply to build equipment - it’s to build a culture that understands the fight from every angle: how we move, how we think, and how we grow through it.

Florent began training martial arts as a kid — first Karate, then Muay Thai — which shaped his discipline and mindset early on. When his father’s one-man sculpting business began to struggle, he left school to help. Over the next eight years, he built it up to a small team, but after a major crash following COVID, it was back to just him and his parents. After stabilizing it once more, he decided to follow his own path.

Together with his brother Bindi, he set out to create a new kind of bag for martial artists. With Liana and Daniel joining as the founding team, what started as a product idea grew into VRSS — a new way of seeing and living martial arts.

Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1982, Daniel has been designing lifestyle and sport products for over 15 years. His work moves between design and art, exploring the relationship between landscape, people and the objects they use to explore it. He believes well-designed things can help us live better — grounding us in our bodies, sharpening our awareness, and deepening our connection with the environment around us.

Daniel’s story with martial arts began when he was five, on a Judo mat. At seven, he found jiu-jitsu, which has remained part of his life ever since. Martial arts have transformed him deeply, in ways that reshaped who he was. Over the years, he has witnessed that same transformation in many others. Daniel believes martial arts can transform lives as it did his own, and he aims to help more people access this powerful tool through product design and communication. That’s why he’s part of VRSS and has been connected with Florent and Liana since the very beginning — because he shares their belief in martial arts as a force for personal and collective transformation.

Liana has been an athlete since childhood and a martial artist since her early teens. What began as curiosity about movement and performance evolved into a lifelong fascination with what drives human beings to reach their full potential - the link between body, mind, and spirit.

Born and raised in Canada, she moved to Bali in 2018 to build a life centred around health, creativity, and sport. With over 25 years of experience in marketing, media, and brand strategy, she’s helped shape brands across the health, wellness, and sport industries. But founding vrss with Florent, Daniel and Bindi brought everything full circle: a chance to merge her professional expertise with her deepest passion.

Now a Muay Thai and kickboxing athlete, Liana sees martial arts as one of the purest mirrors of human potential. Through vrss, she aims to elevate how martial artists train, think, and express their craft - bringing together the science of performance and the soul of the fight. And today, she travels the world meeting and learning from some of the most interesting minds in sport, psychology, and human performance.
